_A little about our family...I am a deaf educator who has chosen to stay home with our kids.  Nick and I have been married 10 years and we have 5 amazing kids.  Right now, one of them is living in an orphanage in Ethiopia but she should be coming home very soon.  Bailey and Kabaina are 8, Noah is 7, Luke is 3 and Roman is 2.

_Dear Bailey, Kabaina, Noah, Luke, and Roman,
Valentine's Day is fast approaching.  What a perfect time to tell each of you how much I love you.  You are my heart and I love you more than you will ever know.

Proverbs 4:23  Above all else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life.  Bailey- You are the person who made me a mom.  I imagined you would be born with little to no hair and I thought what hair you did have would be blond (just like your momma as a baby) but you were born with a head FULL of DARK hair.  You were beautiful.  You continue to be full of surprises.  You are the best big sister, and love to take care of your brothers.  You do everything but dirty diapers!  I love your sense of humor and wild imagination.  You are fun, funny, so smart, and have a huge heart.  I love how you are always suggesting ways we can help someone.   You are my little cuddler.  I don't think you will ever be too big to sit on your daddy's lap.  I love you.

_ Jeremiah 29:11  For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Kabaina-Oh, Kabaina I love you, my second daughter.  This Valentine's Day I simply want you to know you are loved.  It is a little odd to say those words when we barely know you but it is true.  God has hand-picked you to be in our family and we cannot wait for you to come home.  This will be your last Valentine's Day without your family.  After spending just a few hours with you I am amazed by your spunkiness.  You were very quiet and shy but at the same time full of life.  We can't wait to see your personality bloom and how you interact with your sister and brothers.  You, my child,  are loved by your family, but most of all by God.

_Genesis 6:8   But Noah found favor in the eyes of the Lord. Noah- My first boy!  You were my tiniest baby and your first week of life was a little scary for me.  Looking at you today, I am simply amazed by your life.  You are quiet but silly at times.  You are a great friend, and you genuinely care about other people.  Just like your sister, you love to help people and try to do things to make them happy.  You are such a hard worker and are dependable.   Right now you are enjoying playing basketball.  I like to watch you because you have so much fun when you play.  You usually have a huge grin on your face.  I love your smile and I love you.

Luke  11:28   He replied, “Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it.” Luke-My moon boy, you were my biggest baby and your personality is bigger than life.  The words that come to mind when I think of you are loud, crazy, energetic, sweet, hilarious, and funny.  You say the funniest things and most of the time you have no idea why you are so funny.  You are passionate about everything you do in life and are by far, my favorite three year-old in the world.  You still want to marry your mommy and that makes your mommy's heart smile.  You are my perfect nap buddy and always an encourager.  You make me laugh because you are always telling me I did a good job at cooking, cleaning, reading, and everything in between.  I love you to the moon and back.

Romans 1:17  For in the gospel a righteousness from God is revealed, a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: "The righteous will live by faith." Roman-My little man, my baby.  Just like Noah,  you were a tiny baby and had a scary start to life but you too have come so far in two-years.  You are still a little guy but you don't realize your size.  You think you are big and you act big.  You are a sweet, sweet little boy.  You frequently give me hugs and kisses.  I love listening to you pray at night.  You just recently started saying, "My pray."    You soflty name everyone you know and then say AMEN!  I love you and these quiet moments with you. I am so thankful I get to be your mom.

You are all amazing kids and I am truly blessed.  I can't wait to see what God has planned for each of your lives.  I love spending my days with you and I cherish each and every memory.

Love,
Mom
