Oh no! Here she goes again with that word patient! That's right Super Bowl fans! Haha! I just had to say that, and besides most of you are gonna need an extra dose of patience today when you cheer for your favorite team. But win or lose, we will still be faced with living out "patience" in our lives. This series "What Is Love"" will be based on I Corinthians 13...the love chapter. Love is a pretty important topic in the Bible. It was love that sent Jesus into this world we live in...because God so "loved" the world he sent his ONLY son. That should be a clue as to how important the word "love" is. ![]() _Love is patient...what exactly does that mean when we say that? It means that it is going to last, because it never gives up. Love never gives up...it sticks around. Even if someone is impatient with us and treats us in the wrong way, we are still to practice patience with them. We need to give them what we want from them...time and "patience". I have to confess to you that I have not done so well with this in my past, but am trying to live it out in my life now. You know God never gives up on you, so you should never give up on others. Show them the patient love that they need. It could be just the thing that turns them around. So many times when someone mistreats us, our natural reaction is to get mad or hurt. Those feelings can cause us to desire those that hurt us to feel the same way we are feeling. But you know that is just not the right thing to do. We should never retaliate when we are wronged by others. We just have to face the fact that most people...really all people...are flawed. They have things in their lives that have caused them to be the way they are. What most are looking for (whatever that may be) will not be found unless we show them the kind of love that is "long suffering". If we are not tolerant with them, there is a good chance that we will push them away from the very thing they need in their lives...love. Be patient with everyone you encounter...because love is patient. Thanks, Paula
